Review: Convenanza 2025 - A First-Timer's Confession

When I first planned my trip to Carcassonne for Convenanza 2025, my feelings were mixed. Convenanza always held a strange place in my schedule—usually clashing with work or other excuses like the post-summer lull. Honestly, I was a bit intimidated. The festival has a loyal following since 2013, and I worried about arriving late to an event where everyone already knew the stories.

I've been a huge fan of electronic music thanks to Andrew introducing me to it years ago. Despite multiple reviews of Convenanza by Tim Murray on this site, my nerves only eased when a couple of friends in their early thirties—one who builds beautiful wooden arches at a festival we run and had that calm confidence from listening to NTS since youth—basically forced me to catch a flight to Toulouse. One of them said,

“Stop making excuses.”

Another big reason was that Tia Cousins was closing the festival. It turns out my friend and Tia had planned this to get me there, but I won’t dwell on that deception.

Author's summary: Convenanza 2025 offered a unique, welcoming experience that transformed first-time nerves into memorable moments with friends and beloved music.
