FC Bayern defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 on Tuesday night, securing their spot at the top of the Champions League table with a flawless record. This victory marked Bayern’s 16th win in 16 matches across all competitions this season.
Luis Díaz gave Bayern a two-goal lead but received a red card before halftime. Despite being a man down in the second half, Bayern's defense remained solid and they held on to claim another well-deserved three points. João Neves scored for PSG with about 15 minutes remaining.
Substitutions included Tom Bischof replacing Gnabry at halftime, and Minjae Kim and Leon Goretzka coming on for Olise and Kane in the second half.
Bayern dominated a lively first half. Their opening goal came after winning possession in midfield. Serge Gnabry flicked the ball on to Michael Olise, whose shot was saved, but Luis Díaz was quickest to react and scored on the rebound.
PSG’s Aleksandar Pavlović had a deflected shot that went behind, and Ousmane Dembelé appeared to score by chesting in a cross, but the goal was disallowed for offside after review. Gnabry was active, firing wide and hitting the post, while Neuer made a key save to deny Bradley Barcola.
Later, Bayern doubled their lead when Díaz intercepted the ball from Marquinhos and scored.
“Luis Díaz handed Munich a two-goal lead but saw a red card before half-time.”
“The German record champions were then solid in defence after the restart and claimed another deserved three points despite João Neves’ goal with a quarter-hour to go.”
João Neves’ late goal for PSG provided some hope, but Bayern maintained control to finish the match with a victory.
This match confirmed Bayern's dominance this season, combining early control, resilient defense, and clinical finishing to maintain their perfect Champions League record.
