Aryna Sabalenka and fifth seed Jessica Pegula have advanced to the semi-finals of the 2025 WTA Finals held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. They secured their spots after a thrilling round-robin day, overcoming tough competition in the Stefanie Graf Group.
The semi-finals will take place on Friday, 7 November, at the King Saud University Indoor Arena.
“I was just trying to stay aggressive, find my rhythm and find my game,” Sabalenka said. “I was working for the second set already, but then magically was able to turn things around. [I’m] super happy with the performance, super happy to get this win in straight sets and just happy to be through the round robin.”
“I finally got a straight sets win for the first time in a few months,” Pegula commented after her 63-minute victory. “That always feels really good, but I thought I served really well and just played solid today. I was aggressive when I needed to be. There wasn’t much negative today.”
