Michelin-recommended restaurant La Mar by Gastón Acurio at InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa has unveiled “Trilogy of Cultures” — an exceptional culinary event celebrating the global diversity and impact of Peruvian cuisine. The evening will showcase how Peru’s gastronomy unites influences from Japan, China, and traditional Criolla roots into a harmonious dining narrative.
For one exclusive night, three acclaimed chefs from the Acurio family of restaurants join forces to craft a four-course journey highlighting innovation, heritage, and cross-cultural creativity. Each course will embody the chefs’ distinct style, reflecting Peru’s story of cultural fusion.
Chef Kaoru Chang, Executive Chef of La Mar Bellevue (Seattle), will feature his refined take on Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei gastronomy — a union of precision and artistry. As a third-generation Nikkei chef with nearly two decades of experience, he has honed his skills at globally recognized venues such as Nobu Restaurant Group and Juvia Miami Beach.
“Nikkei cuisine captures the soul of Japan and the heart of Peru in every dish,” said Chef Kaoru Chang.
His creations reflect a balance of technique and emotion, inspired by his lifelong journey across continents exploring culinary cultures.
Chef Jesus Delgado, Corporate Executive Chef of JARANA & Tanta, brings bold interpretations of Chinese-Peruvian Chifa cuisine. His dishes blend comforting textures with vibrant flavors, representing a dialogue between Chinese culinary heritage and Peruvian local ingredients.
This one-night celebration invites guests to experience the evolving identity of Peruvian cuisine — a living art that transcends borders and generations.
