City of Calgary Animal Services Reduces Adoption Fees for November

City of Calgary Animal Services Lowers Adoption Fees in November

This November, residents of Calgary can adopt cats and dogs at reduced fees to help more animals find homes before winter.

Adoption Fees

“Every adoption gives an animal a second chance and opens space in our shelter for others who need help,” says Kathleen Dickson, Coordinator of Animal Care and Clinic Services. “We hope this price reduction encourages more Calgarians to come meet the incredible pets waiting for homes.”

Health and Licensing Benefits

All adopted animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, health-checked, and come with a one-year City of Calgary pet license. This ensures that pets are healthy, identifiable, and ready for a safe transition to their new homes.

Winter Pet Care Advice

With colder weather approaching, Animal Services reminds pet owners to keep animals warm and safe. “If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them,” adds Dickson. Pets should be brought indoors, provided with warm bedding, and outdoor time should be limited during low temperatures.

Adoption Location and Hours

Adoptions take place at the Animal Services Centre, located at 2201 Portland Street S.E., and the center is open daily.

Author's summary: Reduced fees in November offer Calgarians a great chance to adopt healthy, vetted pets and prepare responsibly for colder weather.
