Brahim Kaddour Cherif, a registered sex offender mistakenly released from HMP Wandsworth, has been located and arrested following an extensive manhunt.
Cherif, 24, was convicted in November 2024 of indecent exposure tied to an incident from March that year. He received an 18-month community order and was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years. He is an Algerian national thought to have connections to Tower Hamlets and is known to frequent Westminster.
"He was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker in relation to a previous unrelated incident. He has been taken into police custody. The Prison Service has been informed."
A Met Police spokesperson provided the above statement regarding the arrest and additional suspicion of assault against an emergency worker.
