Pfizer’s Legal Action Against Metsera and Novo Nordisk

Pfizer has filed for a temporary restraining order to prevent Metsera from breaching their contract and entering into a deal with Novo Nordisk.

"A reasonable juror could find that the defendants’ 'blaming supply,' making uncompetitively high bids and falsely citing production costs for increased prices were aimed at concealing their alleged conspiracy," the court ruled.

Pfizer claims that Novo Nordisk is trying to "catch and kill" Metsera, which Pfizer was acquiring, to suppress competition against Novo Nordisk's obesity treatments, Ozempic and Wegovy.
