After poor test audience reactions, Bob Weinstein requested reshoots. Director Terry Zwigoff refused, leading Todd Phillips, director of Joker, to assist unofficially.
The role of Willie was initially written for a Sopranos star, though Billy Bob Thornton ultimately took the part.
