North Lincolnshire Unites for Remembrance Sunday
North Lincolnshire will pay tribute to the dedication and sacrifice of its armed forces on Remembrance Sunday, November 9, with a parade and remembrance service in Scunthorpe.
Event Details
- The parade will gather outside The Baths Hall from 10:10 AM and start moving at 10:25 AM.
- Attendees can enjoy tea and coffee inside the venue starting at 9:30 AM or meet outside from 10:00 AM.
- The route will follow Doncaster Road to the Cenotaph outside North Lincolnshire Museum.
- The remembrance service begins at 10:45 AM, featuring an Act of Remembrance and a two-minute silence at 11:00 AM, followed by wreath laying.
- The parade will then return to The Baths Hall via Vicarage Gardens.
- After the service, refreshments and an opportunity for reflection will be available at The Baths Hall.
Participants
The parade will include serving military personnel, veterans, military organizations, and uniformed groups.
Cllr Carol Ross, Mayor of North Lincolnshire, said: “It is a privilege to lead our community in remembering and honouring the immense contribution of our armed forces – those who serve today and those who have served.”
This event fosters community spirit while respectfully commemorating the service of armed forces members past and present.
