Remembrance Day Parades 2025: Bus Service Changes on Sunday 9 November
Temporary route changes will affect some bus services on Remembrance Sunday, 9th November 2025. The following parades have been reported, though others may cause brief disruptions.
Observance of Two Minutes Silence
At 11am on Sunday 9th and Tuesday 11th November, bus drivers will observe a two-minute silence. Where it is safe, drivers will park their buses and turn off their engines. The company invites passengers to join in this national act of remembrance.
Free Travel for Serving Personnel and Veterans
NCT will offer free travel from 8th to 11th November to all serving personnel, cadets, and veterans. Passengers must show appropriate ID or be in uniform when boarding.
Road Closures and Route Diversions on 9th November
- Nottingham Road, Church Drive, and Sir John Robinson Way: Closed from 09:00 to 12:00. Lilac 25 and Lime 58 buses will be diverted.
- Bus stops not served on this diversion include Charles Street, Sainsbury’s, Portland Street, Daybrook Square, Thackeray’s Lane, and Calstock Road. All stops along the diversion route will be served.
Calverton Parade Impact
On Sunday 9th November, the Sky Blue 61 service will be affected from 09:00 until 12:00 due to the parade.
- Stops not served: St Wilfrid’s Square, St Wilfrid’s Church, Oakland Grove.
East Leake Road Closure
Main Street, East Leake, will be closed on 9th November between 10:30 and 11:45. South Notts 1 buses will be diverted via Main Street, Castle Hill, and Loughborough Road.
