Simu Liu will return as Shang-Chi in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday, set for release on December 18, 2026. In an interview with ScreenRant, he shared his excitement about reuniting with stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and gave fans a glimpse of what to expect.
“There are just so many actors in it, and getting to work with those people as peers is really incredible because I grew up watching so many of them,”
The movie brings together an impressive ensemble, including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, and Florence Pugh as Yelena.
“It feels, in a lot of ways, like a love letter to the entire genre of superhero movies. And I think there’s something really fun about that,”
“The film is for all the misfits, weirdos, and underdogs who grew up reading comic books and found hope in them — those who never quite fit in still had heroes to believe in,”
Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, with a script by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
Simu Liu describes Avengers: Doomsday as a heartfelt tribute to superhero films, celebrating inclusivity and passion for the genre while reuniting beloved Marvel heroes.
