Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that What Happens at Night, a new film directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is slated to begin shooting in 2026.
This upcoming movie marks the 27th feature-length project in Scorsese's career. It tells the story of an American couple who travel to a snowy European city to adopt a child, but soon face a series of mysterious events.
The film is adapted from Peter Cameron’s well-received 2020 novel, which explores encounters with unusual characters, described as "ranging from an ancient, flamboyant chanteuse to a debauched businessman to an enigmatic faith healer."
"Nothing is as it seems in this baffling, frozen world, and the more the couple struggles to claim their baby, the less they seem to know about their marriage, themselves, and life itself."
Lawrence told IndieWire: “Hopefully, a January/February situation. But one never knows with these things. I’ll believe it when I’m there. Leo and I worked together on Don’t Look Up.”
Jennifer Lawrence anticipates beginning production in early 2026 for Martin Scorsese’s enigmatic new film What Happens at Night, co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
