A new country will formally join normalization agreements with Israel, collectively known as the Abraham Accords, announced US President Donald Trump’s special envoy on Thursday, Anadolu reports.
Steve Witkoff, US Special Envoy to the Middle East, spoke during the FII Priority Summit in Miami Beach, Florida, on February 20, 2025.
"I’m flying back to Washington tonight because we’re going to announce tonight, another country coming into the Abraham Accords," Witkoff said during a business forum in Miami.
He did not reveal which country would join but confirmed the announcement would happen that evening at an event he was returning to Washington to attend.
President Trump is scheduled to host leaders from five Central Asian countries—Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan—at the White House on the same evening. It remains unknown if the new country’s announcement will coincide with this dinner, but the President is expected to participate in any major statements.
The Abraham Accords are agreements for normalization between Israel and several Muslim-majority nations, originally signed during Trump’s first term as President.
