Setting and Plot Hints
The story picks up in the fall of 1987, when Hawkins bears the scars of the catastrophic opening of the Rifts. The group of friends, now bonded by years of shared trauma, has a single mission — to locate and destroy Vecna.

The situation worsens as the government imposes military quarantine on Hawkins and intensifies its search for Eleven, pushing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance nears, an old sense of dread returns to the town.
