Frustration mounts over Helmsdale Harbour dredging delays

Helmsdale Community Council has been told that there is no start date for dredging work at the village’s harbour.

Helmsdale Community Council is considering lodging a formal complaint over ongoing delays to crucial dredging work at Helmsdale Harbour, amid concerns that the local economy and livelihoods are being jeopardised.

“It’s absolutely just delay after delay,” said Ms Cowie. “And it’s not all Highland Council’s fault — some of it lies with Marine Scotland.”

Community councillor Carolyn Smith suggested submitting a formal complaint to accelerate the process.
