The iconic 1962 Jean Louis gown, last sold for $5 million, was reportedly found with a tear in the right strap, missing crystals, and some stretching at the back seam after Kim Kardashian wore it to the 2022 Met Gala.
During a Vanity Fair video segment, Kim faced pointed questions from her All's Fair castmate Teyana Taylor while strapped to a lie detector. Taylor questioned her about the alleged damage to the historic dress.
"Did you whoop Marilyn Monroe's dress?"
The 34-year-old singer and actress asked the question twice, while Kim, 45, calmly replied each time:
"No."
Teyana pressed further, implying the gown might have been damaged before Kim received it:
"So you're saying that it got to you already whooped?"
Kim answered with a composed tone:
"I don't know how it got to me, but it's perfect now."
As the questioning continued, Kim eventually broke into laughter after adding:
"You're gonna cost me like $10 million in insurance. Let's move on!"
The reality star then turned to the polygraph operator, Stephanie Jackson, to verify her honesty. Jackson confirmed:
"All of it is true."
Kim Kardashian, questioned under a lie detector, denied damaging Marilyn Monroe’s historic gown at the Met Gala, insisting it was intact when she wore it.
