Carly Hirsch has been appointed as the new executive director of Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services, Inc. in Oshkosh. The appointment marks a return for Hirsch, whose professional journey began at the organization as an intern while she studied at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in communication studies, Hirsch joined Christine Ann in 2018 as a crisis advocate and volunteer coordinator. In this role, she provided direct assistance to survivors, managed the 24-hour crisis helpline, and led volunteer engagement efforts.
In 2019, she transitioned to Productive Living Systems, where she worked as the director of staff development, supervising employee training and strategic growth initiatives.
Hirsch returned to Christine Ann in 2021 as associate director. She played a key role in the organization’s successful capital campaign and in the move to its new, expanded facility at 240 Algoma Blvd. The relocation, which celebrated its first anniversary recently, increased shelter capacity from 37 to 64 beds and introduced a transitional housing program. The facility is now among the few pet-friendly domestic abuse shelters in Wisconsin.
“I’m passionate about this work because every day we have the opportunity to help someone feel seen, supported and safe,” Hirsch said in the release.
Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services provides shelter, advocacy, and support for individuals and families affected by domestic violence throughout the Oshkosh area, promoting safety and empowerment for survivors.
